WHAT IS okami shiatsu ?

In Japanese traditional legends „okami“ is the wolf that protects wanderers while they find their way back home.

Shiatsu (in Japanese „shia-tsu“ = finger pressure) is based on the traditional Chinese understanding of QI flowing through our bodies in energy pathways, so-called meridians. As a form of massage Shiatsu includes rotations, stretching and techniques of acupressure with thumbs, palms, knees, elbows and feet. Stagnations and blockades are released through leaning bodyweight into certain key channels and points. The body will relax and find its balance again.

okami shiatsu is my understanding of supporting and accompanying your process of self-healing such as okami, the guardian wolf guiding you home. The treatments stabilise your inner harmony, balance the interaction of all human organs as well as restore the connection of body, soul and mind.

Shiatsu resonates well in case of e.g. stress, insomnia, headaches, tension, fatigue, menstrual cramps, menopause or frequent colds. If you are going through a phase of deep emotional processes, dissatisfaction or frequent emotional fluctuations Shiatsu supports these inner processes through manual therapy.

How to prepare for a shiatsu treatment

For a Shiatsu treatment it is best to wear warm, comfortable clothing and socks. During the treatment you lie relaxed in back, prone or side position. At the beginning we have a short conversation in which you can tell me about your intention and acute or chronic problems. After the treatment there is a short final talk.

Please allow 1.5 hours for the first appointment. Subsequent treatments will take 1 hour, including short pre- and post-treatment talks.

Please inform me about the following circumstances before our first appointment:

– Pregnancy – Heart problems (heart surgery, pacemaker, heart medication) – Major surgical interventions, e.g. hip replacement – Arthrosis – Ostheoporosis – Psychiatric treatment
